earth the blue planet

earth

Earth is the third planet from the Sun. The planet is unique in our solar system, because it is the only planet where liquid water can occur and which has an oxygen-rich atmosphere. About 70% of the planet is covered with water.

Geologically, the Earth is very active volcanoes erupt, earthquakes occur frequently, mountains are formed, etc. This is caused because, in many plates existing crust as it were floating on a roaring hot stone mass, the Earth's mantle. The mantle is so hot that the rock behaves as if it were a thick liquid porridge. This drift so the plates, which collide with each other, rub against each other and move away from each other. This is what causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

The Earth has an axis that is tilted 23.5 degrees. This is the Earth in different parts of its orbit around the Sun with different hemispheres towards the Sun, which causes the seasons. On the hemisphere that is turned towards the Sun, the rays come right, making it warmer. It is a summer. On the other hemisphere are inclined to sunlight, making it not so hot. Since it is winter.

On Earth is a unique system of water circulation. Water evaporates, falls down elsewhere as precipitation, flows into the sea, and the cycle begins again. This makes the whole Earth with water, in order to plants, animals and people alive.

Nowadays it investigates the Earth mainly from artificial satellites that orbit around the Earth brought. It has been found, for example, that there are craters on the Earth, scars of impacts of asteroids, comets or similar objects. Most of these craters are, however, by the actions of wind and weather disappeared. This is called erosion.

The Earth has, besides many artificial sattelites, a natural companion, the Moon.
