Earth is the third planet from the Sun. The planet is unique in our solar system, because it is the only planet where liquid water can occur and which has an oxygen-rich atmosphere. About 70% of the planet is covered with water.

Nowadays it investigates the Earth mainly from artificial satellites that orbit around the Earth brought. It has been found, for example, that there are craters on the Earth, scars of impacts of asteroids, comets or similar objects. The Earth has, besides many artificial sattelites, a natural companion, the Moon.
